It's A Zoo

This morning we were greeted, yet again, by our neighborhood peacocks!  They my be beautiful, but they are loud and seem to like our backyard and chicken coop.  Not sure what to do.  Also, they have nibbled at our lettuce in the garden!!!

You know that bird on PIXARS cartoon UP?  The big "snipe" bird named Kevin?  Well that is what a peacock sounds like!  LOUD.  When one screams...the other one does too!

Gorgeous!

Our Cortez!

Our daughter was playing with him so I could get a shot of his long fangs!  I think they are extra long.  I don't think I've seen a cat with fangs that long.  When he closes his mouth you can see them hanging on the outside of his chin!  Crazy cat.

Cats, dog, chickens, peacocks, and later today horses!  We need to live on a farm!

God Bless.

Faith, Focus, and Follow-Through

Jesus said, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.  Keep on seeking, and you will find.  Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives.  Everyone who seeks finds.  And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."  Matthew 7:7-8

Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God.  People often give up after a few halfhearted efforts and conclude that God cannot be found.  But knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow-through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded.  Don't give up in your efforts to seek God.  Continue to ask him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love, and understanding.  He will give them to you.
(This is a prayer that I need to ask every day.  My patience runs out most days and I honestly forget to turn to God and ask Him for help.  Why I let the little things get to me; I do not know.  It is easy to put our Lord off to the side, but I do know that when I do call on Him, He helps in every way!  I feel at ease.  I feel peace.  I do feel purpose.  I know He is there with me.)

Our Broccoli.  I've never grown broccoli.  My friend Sarah gave some seeds to us and I thought I would try!  They are so cute.

Here are our peas.  I think they are a beautiful a plant.

Here is a view of our new 8'x8' tomato garden!  I am hoping to plant 18 more tomato plants soon!

Our gorgeous strawberries!  Last year we had our first batch!  I am praying for lots more this year.

My kids muddy feet!  They were having a great time painting themselves in mud.  I wasn't too sure what to think about this.  However, they were happy and my oldest just said, "hey, were kids".

Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.  Psalm 119:35

I Love the Dirt

One thing lead to another.  We have prepared our main garden with wonderful things.  We planted our onions, garlic, spinach, lettuce, carrots, broccoli, beans, peas, and tomatoes.  We didn't have enough room for our potatoes, so we decided to make a separate garden just for them!  Then realizing we needed way more space for our tomatoes we made them a bed also!  (When I say "we", please know that without my husband, non of this would be the way it is.  I am blessed to have him.)  Here is a picture of our Tomatillo Tomato plant, growing in its new garden spot!!!

Psalms 1:3 - They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.  Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. ( Speaking of those who do not follow the wicked or join in with the mockers, but stand strong in the Lord)

Here is our Lettuce!  YUM

Onions

Here is the full picture.  Hope you can read it well.  Can't wait to see the veggies and fruit-come on summer sun!

Here is our little herb garden area.  Just trying new things here.  I planted Lemon Verbena and Oregano too early.  They almost died, however, I think they are coming back inside the house; in this window you see.
It's an ongoing process and I love it.  We have also been cleaning up the "front of the house" flower beds.  Just trying to make it look nice.  It is very rewarding.  I love to see everything grow.
Thank you Lord for the small things and for the riches you give us everyday from the earth.
