Ponderings for Today

It was 60 degrees today! I believe that Fall is here.

The evening was just so beautiful. It had rained all day. Huge down pours! It was nice to see the day change and the sun shine in our yard.

Our backyard, after it cleared from the rains! God's beauty is so perfect!

This was today during school. Olline and I were watching the super rain fall. She looked so cute with her little red frog.

See the rain on the windows. It was blowing and hitting our back window.

This is Olline's science project for today! We have been discussing all about light and how it works. Today we talked about shadows! How to make them big...how to make them small...using LIGHT! If you can't tell, this is a boy riding his dragon! Olline had a blast doing this. Her sister played with us too. Learning is FUN!

This is Melina's science project today. She is learning about erosion! So she set up a sand pit and poured water in it to represent the "river". She had to create how the waters wear and tear at our earth. EROSION! Fun...took us a while to figure out the directions though. She was really focusing here.

This was last night! We played SORRY! I highly recommend it. It is so much fun. Olline won this time. We did play again tonight, while watching the "Bee" movie. I won once and Melina won once! Olline was just a super positive loser!

This is my calendar for September. Thought I would share it.

Jade's archery target. I received my new camera lens yesterday and I thought I would see how far it reached. Here it is. I am standing in my house at the sliding door. I was hand holding it also, which is hard to get a clear pic. But I think I did pretty good.

Have a great Day! God Bless!

God is So Good...I'm Happy

I love all the beauty around me. Even though I struggle somedays and hurt others. I am completely blessed with what I have. I am honored to be here on earth to stand for all that is right. I will fail, I will fall, but I know with His strength and power I will rise and make things right. I am not alone and I'm surrounded with Love. Love from my girls, my husband, my family and friends...most of all our Lord!

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

1 John 4:16 & 17

I love colored pencils!

I also love homemade bread!

I love all the things God has created for us to enjoy!

Thank you Lord for all you have given us!
Happiness is your children and the love they give!
Happiness is the Lord above!

Happiness Is...

I ♥ Faces Photo Contest

I Heart Faces - Vroom Vroom Photo Challenge
Wasn't sure if I had any transportation type photos...but then I remembered this one I took at a Gold Mine trip we took. The girls are in an old mining cart that they used to transport miners to the gold mines!!! It was so much fun that day. We learned a lot and got to go in a mine over 100 years old.

Ready For A New Week

Here is a couple photos of our Kiwi. She is just our sweetheart. Love her so much.
It is now Sunday night and I am preparing my brains for another week of school! Last week went so well, and I am praying hard that this week will be just as good. Melina asked if I could get all her subjects ready and leave the literature by her bed so she could wake up early and start. I don't know if I could just wake up and start reading...we will see how she does. Sometimes that girl just amazes me!
God blessed us with these two girls and I am so blessed to have them here with me! I am so thankful that in our lives right now, I am able to teach them here.
Also, Jade is doing good. I haven't spoken to him yet, but with a GPS unit called the SPOT, he can text and email me to let me know he is okay and to show online where he is at! Technology is so cool!
Kiwi has found a new home in our cooler hanging in the laundry room! Peek a boo!

Just a Funny

It is official...schooling has taken over our lives! Fall is in the air and school is all we are thinking about! Girls have been working incredibly hard and accomplishing so much in just 8 days. Melina is required to do so much more and Olline is just pushing through all her assignments! I can't believe we are in our 3rd year of homeschooling. Crazy, but a blessing in so many ways. PTL!
Jade left today for his annual hunting trip! I pray for his safety and guidance. We are already missing him. Hard to see him go. It is quiet in this house now. Sort of lonely.
However, with the girls schooling and back into swimming we will be so busy and our minds will be focused.
This is a short note, as I am trying to find time to update this blog. Thought I would leave you with a funny picture I took in August of the girls swinging. I love their faces!!! So cute. They are my angels!

God Bless

Another Day to Share

9-3-10 I wanted to share with you our beautiful sunset we witnessed last night. Melina, Olline and I have been cooped up in the house this week. With school going and trying to figure out a smooth schedule, we just haven't been outside much. So dad suggested an evening walk. It was a great idea. There was a feeling of a storm brewing! With a storm coming about, it makes for perfect sunsets! Good thing I am always carrying my camera! God is so good to bring us His art! I know you can give us a "scientific" explanation for these sunsets, but when it comes down to it, God is the reason for this kind of beauty! Amen to that. Hee
What a perfect evening. We could see the rain pulling down from some of the clouds and lightening striking in the distance. Thanks to dad we were able to have a great ending to our evening.

9-3-10 Just too beautiful. Oh, and I did not Photoshop these!

This is the view on the other side of the path! Wow!

This was the start of our walk. The sun was just starting to burst and reflect on all the clouds!

9-2-10 Here is Olline on the first day of our schooling. She is painting and learning about primary colors and how to blend to make secondary colors! She was so happy!

9-2-10 Olline on our first day of school! 2nd Grade

9-2-10 Melina on her first day of school! 6th Grade!!!!

9-2-10 Our school room. Olline does computer work on the computer you see on the left. Melina does all her online work on a computer in the far left corner of this room (not shown here). This is our new table to do all our other school assignments! Yeah, we are doing it!

God Bless you all and have a Great day!

Mining and School

Okay...first off...I am having uploading issues. I had a few other photos here and "poof" they disappeared. So it is late and maybe tomorrow I can try for more photos.
8-31-10 We went on a field trip to Kellogg and Wallace Idaho! We took the girls to the Gold Mine in Kellogg and then to Wallace to see a little bit of history. I have way too many photos to share, but here are just a few I thought you might enjoy. It was a great day and one that we will never forget.
8-31-10 Again, all my photos are not in order...sorry. Here is Olline's geode! Pretty treasures!

8-31-10 These pictures are backwards in following our day...but this was after are big day. We bought a few geodes and the girls got to hammer them open to find the treasure inside. Eventually, dad had to help because they were super hard to open!

8-31-10 Finding the GOLD!

8-31-10 The owners put trout in the huge water hole! This one was about 30' deep and really wide. There was another one that was 60' deep. The blue arrows show the fish! Strange and they were super huge!

8-31-10 Here is a huge piece of petrified wood beam that they had to cut so tourist could walk through. It was attatched to the other side of the tunnel.

8-31-10 Olline inside of the mine. It was a nice 48 or so degrees. You can see the old track marks back in this photo. They put cement down so tourists could walk it. Really cool.

8-31-10 Girls at the Kellogg, Idaho Gold Mine entry! In 1881 they were digging in here for GOLD! Yes, there is still gold in dem hills! So fun and the girls truly enjoyed it.
