A few things to share...

Today we got crazy and I cut the girls hair! Olline needed it. Her hair was super long and super tangled! So we did a simple trim and BANGS! She wanted her bangs back and I think she just looks super cute! She is so proud of her hair cut.

Melina is even prouder! She wanted layers and I had never ever tried that! I didn't know what I was doing and it scared me a little. But I went for it and thought that if I messed up we could always shave her head bald! What do you think?

So isn't she just so grown up? I think she is gorgeous and I think it made her happy!

Okay...you are thinking "what in the world is Kiwi doing"! Well I will tell you...if you move on to the next photos you will see delicious blueberry muffins! Well, I think that Kiwi snacked on one without my permission! (no, not really, but isn't her tongue funny?)

Yes, Blueberry Muffins make me so happy!!!!!

Here they are! I made them on Tuesday, but thought that I could inspire someone out there to go and make a good batch of muffins! It's a good thing to make with your kids too! Then when they know the recipe super good...they can make them for you! Ya!
Hope you all had a perfect day! It is suppose to storm and rain tomorrow, so we have been enjoying the sunny evening! Oh, and Jade washed and windexed all the windows of the house, inside and out! WOW!!!!! Thank you Jade (what a man!).
God Bless!

I know these are not in order. I was having issues uploading these photos. Here are a few I thought you would all like to see. This photo was on the 19th, when both girls came out with me to weed. I mean WEED. It was a huge job. I decided to ripe out all the plants under our maple tree! The roots were awful and Melina sure helped me out. I think I have the greatest helpers ever! They are wonderful helpers. I think Jade and I need to give them more chores! Though, they always ask for money! Lol! Can you see Melina's face, pulling those roots up? 6-19-10

Here is yesterdays photo. Jade took us over to the nursery and we picked up a few annuals and bark! It was a great day. I dug into my deck pots and planted new flowers. I wish those nasty wasps would leave me alone...Jade did come to my rescue and he sprayed the deck where they were trying to build the nests! Yuck! Thank you Jade!!!
I never know what to do in these pots and I like it that way. So every year it is different. Pretty! 6-20-10

Okay, here is a new one. While at the nursery...well...let me go back a few steps...You will have to use your imagination! This was over taken by WEEDS!!!!! It was just dirt and weeds. I always plant flowers here and as you can see on the left, one petunia survived. I didn't know they could do that. So, I sat and dug up all the wild weeds and behold a new plant...a KIWI plant! Wow! I had know clue kiwi's could grow here. We are giving it a whirl. So Jade helped me with that black weed matting and we layed new bark over the top. This is what it looks like...do you like it? 6-20-10

Now this was yesterday with Olline outside cheering Melina and I on with the weeding. She did help a little, but the sun was hot and so she wanted to stay in the shade! She is a dirt digger though. If I gave her my hand shovel, I think she would have dug up all our worms! 6-19-10

Well, what do you think of our garden? Isn't it pretty? Jade mowed yesterday and after I took pictures of my deck pots, I went around to take pictures of all our hard work! Jade has done a fantastic job on our garden. I am so proud of him. Garlic, carrots, spinach, lettuce, potatoes, and Raspberries...oh and Strawberries! The Strawberries are in the back there? Can you see them? They are getting big and I think we will have Strawberries this year! 6-20-10

Oh, ya, all that big WEEDING Melina and I did? Here is the final results! I love it. I put in two types of Lavender (one white and one purple) and sage! I love to smell them! They are small now, but I hope they take and become great full bushes. Don't you love the new bark too? This flower bed was an absolute mess before! I was ashamed of it, but now I am proud! 6-20-10

Well it wouldn't be a day outside without our baby Chowder (maybe he is an old baby, but our baby)! Melina took this photo and I think it is one of my favorites of him. Doesn't he make you smile? Can you see me weeding in the sun back there? When I first looked at this, I thought that was Melina in the background! 6-19-10

Here is the Father! I love this photo. He was just about to give Olline a smooch! She made him a cute Father's Day card! Precious!

Happy Father's Day! Well, they couldn't get any cuter! We had just eaten a yummy breakfast and the girls wanted to give their dad the cards they made. I just love my family. They are the most special people ever! WOW, I am a lucky lady!
Well I hope you enjoyed this. I wish I could post all my photos...though I would be here from sun up to sun down. I just love photos!
Love you all and May God Bless your day!

Doggie Treats

6-17-10 Today we made Tuna Doggie Treats

Chowder LOVES THEM!

Today Melina and I made Tuna Doggie Treats. So I thought I would share the recipe for all you dog lovers out there. If you like the smell of tuna, I say smell it up! However, I am not a huge fan of the seafood smell, so I wasn't prepared for the tuna to smell up the house. I am burning candles as I type! Though, so I don't turn you off, Chowder LOVES the Tuna Treats! So we must love him dearly, to endure the tuna smells! I am also baking our bread in the oven and am hoping it will take over the seafood aroma and give us that homemade baking smell! We will see!

Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 cup Cornmeal, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1/4 baking powder, 5oz tuna fish (canned in oil),
1/2 cup water

1. Combine all dry ingredients and set aside. 2. Puree tuna with oil and water in food processor. 3. Blend dry ingredients with tuna puree to for dough (we ended up using our hands and worked it into a ball). 4. Place dough on floured counter and roll out, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch think. 5. Cut into shapes with desired cookie cutter and place on ungreased cookie sheet. 6. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Melina tried the dough...please do not do this...she said it was nasty! You should have seen her face! :)

Also, it is raining again! LOTS OF IT! I don't think it stopped at all. Rain, rain, rain, all day long. The girls are restless. They argue a lot. I may go crazy today! HELP! :)

6-13-10 Jade on his boat!

At this point, I didn't realize I was burning!

Happy Melina in boat

Sweet Olline enjoying the ride!

We were able to enjoy a great day on the lake yesterday! Jade hooked up the trolling motor and we tried to fish for a while. We were out for a few hours and we caught zero fish. However it was a great day with the family.
I was very ashamed that I forgot to grease up everyone better with sunscreen! Well, we are all paying the price! Especially me! We are burnt and I feel like a horrible mom! OUCH!!!
I believe it was about 82 or so yesterday. We sure enjoyed it!
Today, we are all recovering from our sun burns. I did swim this morning and that felt great on the skin. Now I am home with the girls, while Jade is working hard at Schweitzer mt. I pray he is ok!
Need to work a little on school work. Not much to do. I think our summer has definitely started and it feels so good.
Well, off to make lunch.....until next time.....

Snickerdoodles and Banana Bread

Nothing better than being married to a pirate!!!!!!!

JAWS!

Harry Potters Castle "Hogwarts" at Universal! We didn't get to see inside. It opens this month on the 18th I think!

Melina on the Monkey at Universal

Olline being blasted by the rocket at Universal

Olline riding the waves at Universal!

I thought I would post a few more Florida vacation pictures. It just makes me want to be there again! So much fun there!

Yum..I think the girls and I need to make some cookies and banana bread. It is another stormy looking day and I think that it is a perfect day to bake something. Then I can go and have my one hour massage!

Rain-what else do I say?

Well, I sure appreciated yesterdays weather! We tried to suck it all in as much as we could. So, today it is raining...again! I suppose we need the rain...I suppose. I went to Safeway this morning and it was just pouring down hard! I think we will get a few dry days soon, I hope.

Melina this morning finished all her school work, except math, all on her own. I went swimming and she worked hard on school! I am so proud of her. Usually she waits for me after swim, but she took it on and conquered it! PROUD...PROUD...PROUD! Wow! She is great. So she is pretty much done with the day! Good job Melina!

Olline has the sniffles. I am praying she heals faster than Melina and Jade. It is a lingering cold. Yuck. She and I have some schooling to finish and then we can relax.

Hope all is well with our families. Sending you our love. God Bless!
